No matter what happened to you — you make sense.
a gentle, paced approach
Trauma can leave us feeling disconnected — from ourselves, from others, and from a sense of safety in the world. Trauma therapy with Heather creates the safety and space to reconnect, at a pace that honours where you are on this very individual journey.
Heather specialises in working with children, youth, and adults who have experienced trauma, including complex trauma (C-PTSD) and PTSD. Working from an attachment focus, together you build on strengthening the relationships within your life as a foundation for individual growth.
emdr therapy
A cornerstone of Heather's trauma work is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) — an evidence-based therapy extensively researched and found effective for C-PTSD, PTSD, anxiety and depression. EMDR has also been shown to help with grief, disordered eating, and negative self-talk.
Heather brings a relational, somatic, and belief-focused stance to EMDR, completed through EMDRIA-approved training. She has found it a powerful approach to support healing, rewire limiting beliefs, and increase one's belief in themselves.

front-line & first responder support
Front-line work carries a unique weight — repeated exposure to critical incidents, a culture that asks you to keep going, and the toll this takes on nervous systems, relationships, and sense of self. Heather provides specialized, culturally-aware support for firefighters, first responders, emergency workers, and service professionals.
Heather is certified in first responder and service professional training through Dr. Lisa Mortimore, and has completed Understanding Firefighter Culture & Trauma and Understanding Emergency Worker Trauma with First Responder Health. This training grounds her work in the realities of front-line culture — you won't need to explain the job before you can talk about the weight of it.
